Here is a couple of illustrations I recently made for AKO magazine. The article was about students and teachers from NZ schools in rural or remote locations overcoming their isolation by using online communities and education to provide a rich and varied curriculum and meaningful connections. Thanks AKO team for the fun assignment!
3x3 International Illustration Show Award
I’m thrilled to announce that ‘How to Help a Hedgehog and Protect a Polar Bear’ has won a Merit Award in the 3x3 International Illustration Awards and will appear in Annual No.16. Congratulations to all the other winners and thanks to the team at Nosy Crow, Jess French and the National Trust for the opportunity to work on such a special book!
Lately...
Here is something I have been working on in the spare time between projects. I have quite a few illustrations like this which I originally designed for colouring in cards but now I’m enjoying colouring them in myself!
I’m excited to see what this idea could be used for… I think it would make a great floor rug, beach towel or repeat pattern for wrapping paper.
New Online Shop
I’m excited to announce that I have opened an online shop! Thanks to INPRNT I can now offer art prints, canvas prints, cards and the odd phone case. Over the years I have had quite a few enquires about art prints of my work and sadly printing and posting them from NZ I felt made them too costly for the buyer. So I hope this option will make it a little easier to get my work on your walls no matter where you are in the world! I’ve put up a few of the old favourites and a few new ones. Hope you enjoy shopping and thanks for your support!
Book Week!
Chris and I had such a great time sharing Inspector Brunswick and How to Help a Hedgehog and Protect a Polar Bear with children from Southwell and Hukanui schools. Each reading was followed by an illustration exercise and there were some lovely hedgehog drawings and Admirals with delightful eyebrows. Thanks to both schools for having us along for book week!
